Survey on Demand and Satisfaction on In-Service Education of Child-Care Center Teachers

The purpose of this study was to analyze the demand and satisfaction on in-service education of child care center teachers and discuss about the way to increase the efficiency of in-service education. For this purpose, we developed a questionnaire and conducted a survey of 217 teachers of child care center concerning problems in in-service education and their performance of professional roles as the teachers of child care center and their demands. Data analysis was conducted by one-way F-test, Chi-test and LSD post-hoc test. Based on the results of analyzing the problems and demands, we determined the direction and contents of in-service education programs. Consequently, the counterplan according to the findings of this study could be summarized as follows: improving in-service education program according to demand and satisfaction of child care center teachers, devising appropriate teaching method and selecting appropriate lecturer, resolving the insufficiency of substitution teacher, devising policy for enhancing participation in in-service education.
