Analysis Based on Urban Location Theory in Yanggi-Fengshui Theory

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study is to apply it to selecting urban location in modern times by re-analyzing the location theory of Fengshui as the location theory of the present age. (2) RESEARCH METHOD This study aims to survey Yanggi-Fengshui theory, which was shown in the classic book of Yanggi-Fengshui(陽基風水), to explain by dividing this again into systems such as Jangpungbeop(藏風法), Deuksubeop(得水法), Jeonghyeolbeop(定穴法), and Ganryongbeop(幹龍法), and to consider how Fengshui theory is analyzed and applied to the modern urban location theory. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS The geomantic topography of the situation in mountain and water of a propitious site, which is expressed in Fengshuijiri, is same as a form of urban location where is good for living in modern times. The propitious site in Fengshui can be seen to be requirement for urban location. Yanggi-based Fengshui theory can be applied very validly as a theory of examining of a site in urban location. 2. RESULTS With entering today, the importance of ecological city, low-carbon small town, and eco-friendly city are growing. Thus, Yanggi theory in Fengshuijiri is seen to be likely to be possibly an alternative plan of seeking for good urban location, which will satisfy a desire of mankind with the aim of making healthy and happy life in the comfortably natural environment.
