A Study on the Improvements and Analysis on Ongoing State of Prototype New Town Project in Seoul

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES The object of the present study is to analyze the ongoing state and problem of a new town project (Eunpyung, Gilum, Wangsimri, etc.) which is currently under construction as a city rebuilding plan by Seoul and to suggest improvements. (2) RESEARCH METHOD The present study is basically based on bibliography. The ongoing state of a prototype new town project and its problem are analyzed by an intensive and technical study way, and an improvement is suggested. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS The followings are key matters in order to make a new town project successful. First, a residence welfare administration should be enhanced. Second, houses should be supplied depending on a resident’s financial condition. Third, various houses should be supplied more in vicinity. Finally, native should be back and live and living should be environment friendly. 2. RESULTS As a result of the study, the following improvements are suggested. First, a new town project should be planted by the unit of life zone based on a rebuilding of space structure of Seoul. Second, a new town project and a public support system and development benefit restitution should be organically connected. Third, a new town project should be performed step by step, and a circulation development is recommended. Fourth, a new type of a new town project should be introduced. Finally, a comeback rate of native should be increased.
