The purpose of this research is to examine the Dialogisme' proposed by Mikhail Bakhtine (1895-1975), a Russian literary theorist and linguist. Researchers and scholars in the field of pragmatics and discourse analysis started to pay attention to his Dialogism as one of the most influential theories of linguistics. His Dialogism has made an influence on foreign language education, which had been believed to train learners to make access to a foreign language through the mastery of syntax or grammar. Now, foreign language teachers have come to realize the importance of context as a whole as well as the effectiveness of social interaction and communication in the speech community. The present research attempted to explore the influence of Dialogism on French linguistics as well as on the education of French as a foreign language (=FLE). Also, it explored how Dialogism in language classes can be useful. Furthermore, two sides of Dialogism are noticed: one as philosophy of linguistics and the other as a tool for analysis into language centered on the concept of polyphony largely in French spoken areas.
