This paper is to deal with Yun Chi-ho's thought of mission by analyzing his diaries, a biography, and Edinburgh reports. A Korean theologian of mission. Yun contributed to the agenda of World Missionary Conference 1910. Emphasizing the uniqueness of Christianity and the freedom of religion and mission, he asked Western missionaries to respect the cultures and minds of Korean Christians. This trends resulted from his encounters with other religions in Chicago, 1893. In Edinburgh, Yun put the principle of Christ over the first principle in the distribution of mission fund by claiming the cooperation and dialogue between missionaries and native leaders in Korean mission field. He also criticized a sudden conversion, suggesting the gradual transformation of individuals and communities in terms of morality, economics, politics, and religion. Yun's early experience of racial discrimination and missionaries' arrogance in the USA made him interpret Christianity from a Korean point of view. He pointed out the dangers of other religions, secular philosophies and uneducated Christians. Instead of the public role of government, he remained a Christian educator and mission strategist.
