Studying Asian historical science in Korea has begun since 1945 when The World War II was over. Learning Chinese history in traditional ages was recognized as common sense but it was difficult to call it as modern study. Studying Asian historical studies in Korea was said to be begun, but it actually began without any bases of studying and any important reasons. In the case of Korean historical studies, there was the elementary patriotism , “We have to know our history" existed in whole society after the liberation from Japanese colonial period and the time came to think to study and research based on this. And in the case of studying Western historical studies, we felt the huge power of both America and Russia whose military stayed in Korean peninsula, and western culture that had came to Korea was enough to recognize the West as developed countries. Besides, the expansion of the Christian religion that came into Korea with western people was enough to get people to want to know about the West. These thoughts could work as a primary factor for Western studies to be studied. Meanwhile studying Asian historical studies was not approvedemotionally because the effects of China had been getting lowered than traditional ages and we hadn't established diplomatic relations with China, due to the gap of ideology, and the fact that Japan had dominated Korea for 35 years. Asian historical studies could start to study as a history subject that should be taught to students in each school. So among the scholars who studied Asian historical studies quite often chose Korean history as research theme. So the establishment of Asian historical studies, which have been published so far, was the teaching materials to teach only the students ; however, it didn't propose the direction of historical studies. Therefore, not only the students and gene ral readers couldn't find the reason to read Asian history but also they even turned away from it. In the world of Asian historical studies, there had been a studying contest which only examined the reality but failed to explain why Asian historical studies has to be actively propelled or indicate the direction of study. Hence, this type of condition has been continuously remained even until present time. Of course, there had been the problems like ‘classification of historical stage' and ‘war of peasant' occurring in the world of Asian historical studies in Korea, but this was initiated according to their needs in China and Japan. In our nation, it was acknowledged as an obvious problem which might occur in history of studies and accepted uncritically. In other words, we failed to set up the direction independently of what hasto be studied from our standpoint. There are two main reasons becoming like this. First, the scholars themselves, who study on the Asian history, were not able to discover the direction of study which we needed. In a case of having the democraticalview of history, historical studies might have the possibility of danger to be put in extreme patriotism, and when it comes to propel the study of Social -economic history, it might also be put in ontroversy of ideology. For that reason, Asian scholars were depending on the historical studies of evidence which could guarantee the safe ty of their study. Nevertheless, this historical studies on evidence was somewhat insufficient to get positive attention from both students and general readers. Secondly, because the history education in each every class is to teach the subjects based on patriotism, it is mainly designed to teach the Korean history. Moreover, especially in middle and high school, there are too few opportunities to study the Asian history. Because of the se main circumstances, even the least foundation weren't established for all students and general readers to pay attention to Asian history.
