The Research for Liturgical Inculturation of Korean Protestants

This research focuses on the issue of liturgical lnculturation for Korean Protestants, To accomplish this, I search for the meaning of ritual and symbol and examine the role of ritual. It is necessary to define the terms of Inculturation, and then try to find the method of liturgical Inculturation, Moreover, it is necessary to evaluate the role of syncretism, I believe that, in the dimension of liturgical lnculturation, syncretism should be accepted as a positive and creative dynamic, unlike the negative perspectives on syncretism that have existed in the Church until now, Of course, the essence of Christian message must be retained, One of the important elements in liturgical Inculturation is the local culture, In Korean culture, there are also profound conceptions about rites, especially in the Confucian tradition, Therefore when we can grasp the meaning of the Yin-Yang symbol and the conception of Li, it will be helpful to set liturgical Inculturation more greatly, I hope strongly that my work will stimulate the Korean Protestant liturgy, so that Korean liturgical rites will become a deeper and wider expression of the sririt and faith of the Korean people.
