On a study of the education of history in ancient China, I have looked about the history education by home education or private education, and by national education and official education. I also present the viewpoint that the Confucian classics and chinese history books are originally the same. Let‘s summarize the main points of this thesis as followingings. There is the education of history by home education or private education. When they performed a religious service for their ancients, seniors narrated the historical activities that their ancients performed during their lifetime. And father taught and son learned history at home, that is the education of history through home education and private education. There is the education of history by national education and official education. From ancient times China built the educational institutes like colleges and schools, engaged the faculty, gathered students, and taught and learned history with the Confucian classics and history books. Consequently this made rulers and officials to perform public duties, promoting the awareness of history. In contrast with that home education or private education appeared and developed in ancient times or in the times of disunion, national education or official education advanced when the reigns of government were stabilized and strong. There is the education of history based on the viewpoint that the Confucian classics and history books ar originally the same. The Six Confucian classics are originally history books, or at least based on history. Therefore, the education of the Confucian classics are namely education of history books. We can recognize that the education of the Confucianism and history through the Confucian classics became the focus, and the history education through pure history books were incidental, even after the periods of Shu Dynasty(隋朝) and Tang Dynasty(隋朝)) when the Confucian classics and history books were separated. For reason of selecting historical subject in human life, and educational subject in human life, I now look upon a history as the educational history and the history education as a teaching of the educational history. With this viewpoint, we can understand the original value and the mutual relation among history, education or the history education. There are several purposes of the education of history, that is, ‥a support of reign(資治)'.'a precept(資治)'.'a moral training(修身)'.'an acquisition of wisdom(修身)'.'a get of knowlege(修身)'.'an education(得知)'.'because the objects of the education are different from each other. Therefore, we can know that the purpose of the education of history implies the variety and the synthesis. According to the objects of the education of history, there are each education for rulers, the public and young children. Also, in the ways of the education of history, there are the private education좿by telling, the homeeducation, self-study—, and the official education that the government leads. In addition, through the characteristics of the chinese history education, we can know that many institutes of education have some education subjects of the Confucian classics and history books together. Therefore, we can also know that the history education are performed through the Confucian classics as well as the history books.
