The study aims for the healthy systemization of short-term mission program. Recently, as Korean churches have shown tremendous concern for short-term mission programs, many local churches and mission organizations increasingly participate short-term mission programs. Participants of short-term mission also become diverse from children and teenagers, even to the aged lay-people groups. As a result, short-term mission programs become one of the most obvious phenomena in Korean mission. However, unlike such booming phenomena, there is serious lack of missiological and theological reflection on it. Therefore, the study basically tries to provide accurate evaluation of short-term mission phenomena, which becomes the steppingstone for the sound and healthy systemization of short-term mission program. Therefore, in order to construct healthy systemization of short-term mission program, first, the study begins with a proper definition of short-term mission. Moreover, the study also identified the most typical short-term mission types in Korean churches; 1) 1-2 weeks duration of the short-term mission trip 2) and from six month to one year duration of the short-term mission training or ministry. The study has also examined the positive impact of short-term mission program. The study has conclude the short-term mission is most beneficial to participants of program, such as reducing ethnocentrism of participants, developing cross-cultural relationship and etc. Yet, unlike popular understanding, the careful study has concluded that the beneficial effects of short-term mission to local churches as well as to long-term missionaries, is questionable. Moreover the study has also identified the possible problems of short-term mission program, such as wasting financial and human resources, over-generalization of the mission perspective, and aggressive attitude of the short-term mission program due to the lack of missiological reflection. Based on the careful evaluation of current short-term mission phenomena, the study finally reaches to the healthy systemization of short-term mission program. The study suggests four stages of healthy systemization, such as, 1) the preparation stage, 2) the training stage, 3) the participation stage, and 4) the evaluation stage. The study has provided important guidelines for the proper performance of each stages.
