성교육에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 교수실제의 변화

A Study in Kindergarten Teacher's Variation of Awareness and Teaching Practice about Sex Education

본 연구의 목적은 성교육과 관련된 활동들을 통해 유아교사의 성교육에 대한 인식과 교수 실제가 어떻게 변화하는가를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 경기도 고양시에 소재한 A유치원 만 5세반 유아 20명과 유아교사 1명이 연구에 참여하였으며 연구기간은 2009년 4월 7일부터 7월 17일까지이다. 이 기간 동안 교사의 개별면담내용과 교사가 쓴 저널을 질적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 교사는 성교육 활동을 통해 성교육에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 변화하였고 둘째, 교사는 성교육 활동을 통해 유아 성교육에 대한 목표, 내용, 교수방법이 변화되었다. 이러한 결과는 유아교사의 성교육에 대한 인식과 교수실제의 변화과정을 이해하는데 도움을 제공할 것이며, 현장에서 교사들을 대상으로 하는 교사교육의 기초자료가 될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate kindergarten teacher's variation of awareness and teaching practice while sex education for young children. The participant of this study is kindergarten teacher of five-year-old class. The activities were carried out for 15 weeks from April 7th to July 17th. The collective data are teacher's interviews and journals. The results of analysis are as follows: First, teacher's awareness on sex education has been changed positively through the sex education for young children. Second, teacher's purpose, attitude and methods of sex education has been changed through the sex education for young children. According to the results of study, some suggestions toward a better sex education for young children were made in the context.
