崔致遠의 新羅傳統 認識과 『帝王年代曆』의 찬술

Choi, Chi-Won had regarded Silla, which was his fatherland, as a Confucian ideal land. The reason is that Silla got throughness to doctrine of Confucianism, so called, ‘Ren(temperance of a man of virtue; 仁)' and took furtherance of it. He laid claim to Silla's self-conceit that Silla could have reformed chaotic China, why she have magnificent cultural capability in Chinese tributary nations. That is to say, Silla got a virtue which is a Confucian ideal, for that ground he could have performed his assertion. He had in his possession of Chinese-centered conception, and that is an his outlook on the world. And yet, He gave accentuation to the Silla's in born convention which was to the foundation of Chinese civilization. Consequently, he paid attention to the Silla's indigenous regime and her language that became to the subject of a comparison to Chinese scholarly attainments. Being based on his learning, he took a serious view of Silla's native words, it was contained of Buddhist significance extraordinary. On that account, he emphasized that the Silla's time honored tradition formed the basis of her Buddhist and Confucian advance in civilization. Choi, Chi-Won had commended, he thought of Silla as a vassal country, also the royal family of king Kyungmun's veneration to the Buddhism and Confucianism which progressed sovereign power of Silla. King Kyungmun had an ardent desire to promote to more higher rank of regal authority as arousing principal of string music(Keum Do;琴道), which was in Confucian ideology metaphorically. Buddhist priest Dae-Gu(大矩和尙), he made relation to Hwa-Rang(花郞), had a musical composition, it involved Confucianism, to hightide of king Kyungmun's prestige as a state-leading sovereign with an intention. Accordingly, monk Dae-Gu, in company with Wee-Hong(魏弘), got a presentation Samdaemok(三代目;gathering of traditional song of Silla), to the king Kyungmun that satisfied king's objective of upgrading royal influence. He made an emphatic point of Silla's predominant Confucian achievement in the Chinese vassal state, for that, compiling Jewangyeondaeryeok(帝王年代曆) which mentioned royal relationship with China's. Choi, Chi-won was well acquainted with Chinese civilization of Confucianism. And yet, he had identified Buddhism with Confucianism in a stand point of scholarly attainment of Silla's convention. He could not establish his moral-rational view of history, it concerned with Confucianism, but acceded to historical standing point of typical Silla.
