The Study on a Countermeasure to Prevent Condensation of Apartment Balcony with Investigating Annual Variation

This study was conducted to examine the annual variation of apartment balcony Condensation. Based on the examination analyzed in many ways, this study expects to provide the basic data to arrange a counterplan to prevent the Condensation. The subject of the investigation was a standard apartment complex, which is in 85m²and had been constructed by the Korea Housing Corporation. This apartment complex has four buildings divided into 322 households. After construction, mold occurred in 14 % of houses in two years, and 5.9 % of residences in four years, which is 58 % less than the former case. As above, the Condensation occurs less with time. However, certain places like humid and side-area, or the middle place between livingroom and balcony that is not insulated well, or the other certain places that are not ventilated enough experienced the occurrence of mold frequently. Considering these features, the countermeasures are necessary from the process of construction.
