문화적 역량, 예술적 역량, 미술적 역량을 기반으로 한 미술교육에서의 역량 논의

The Key Competence in Art Education Based on Cultural Competence, Artistic Competence, and Competence in Art Education

문화적 역량, 예술적 역량, 미술적 역량의 구성요소들이 상호작용하여 개인과 사회를 위한 우수한 성과로 연결되도록 하는 것이 미술교과의 역할이라는 전제하에 본고에서는 문화적 역량, 예술적 역량, 미술적 역량 등의 각 특성 및 상호 관계성을 살펴보고,이 세 가지 역량을 기반으로 한 미술교육에서의 역량에 대해 논의 한다. 또한 본 연구에서는 미술교육 실천 전문가와 미술교육 이론 전문가 집단을 대상으로 한 인터뷰 조사 결과를 근거로 미술교육에서의 문화적 역량의 개념과 구성 요소를 제시했다. 이는 포괄적 의미에서의 문화적 역량의 개념과 구성요소를 미술교육 범주에서 논의하면서 사회․문화적 관점에서 미술교과의 성격과 목표를 제시하기 위함이었다. 미술적 역량과 예술적 역량, 문화적 역량을 가로지르는 미술교육에서의 역량에 대한 논의는 미술교육의 본질적 특성과 교육적 가치를 명료하게 규명하는 일이며 동시에 사회.문화적 관점에서 미술교육의 목표를 구체화하는 것이다.

Students develop their view of the world when they explore the meaning of arts in the context of culture. Also, the discussion and participation in cultural phenomena makes students think about their social role and find their value. In post-modern society, culture is not belonged to a country or a people but selected by individual's interest and taste under the category of world culture. Therefore, cultural education that develops critical power and judgement about diverse cultural phenomena is required. This viewpoint of cultural education demands to reconsider the role of art education for individuals and society. Cultural education in art education just has followed traditional culture and copied high culture while it has been isolate from students' ordinary life. It is time to discuss the competence in art to strengthen cultural competence useful to social capital which is the most important engine in the future. This study discussed about the relation among cultural competence, artistic competence and presents the competence in art education. This discussion must be concerned in 2009 National Curriculum Revision.
