‘N+N’형 합성명사의 형성과 구조

Formation and structure of ‘N+N’ compound nouns

합성명사는 명사를 중심으로 하여 그것에 선행하는 다양한 형태들간의 통합의 과정을 거쳐서 도출되는 형태 구조에 해당된다. 여기에서는 이처럼 다양한 방식으로 도출되는 합성명사들 중에서 순수하게 두 명사의 통합만으로 이루어지는 ‘N+N’형 합성명사들을 대상으로 하여 그것들이 가지고 있는 구조적 특성을 해명해 보기로 한다. 특히 이러한 구조적 특성에 대한 논의는 합성명사를 구성하고 있는 선·후행 명사의 통합 관계에 대한 고찰을 중심으로하여 이루어진다. 그리고 이러한 방식으로 해명된 ‘N+N’형 합성명사의 구조적 특성에 대한 논의는 심리적 대상에 해당하는 ‘N+N’형 합성명사의 형성 층위와 형성 과정을 구체화하고 합성명사 내에서의 사이시옷의 실현과 비실현 현상에 대한 문법적 조건을 일반화하는 논리적 근거가 된다.

Compound nouns are morphological structures derived from a chain of synthetic processes between noun and noun, or noun and other morphemes. Among these various types of compound nouns, we attempt to establish the theoretical basis for the formation of ‘N+N’ compound nouns and to generalize the grammatical conditions for the realization of epenthetic ‘-s-’ within ‘N+N’compound nouns. In particular, in order to develop this discussion systematically, we focus our attention on elucidating the structural features of‘N+N’ compound nouns. (Seogang University).
