The meaning of the Connective Ending -tako

본고는 인과관계접속어미의 기능을 지니는 ‘-다고’가 존재함을 밝히고, 그 의미적 특성을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. ‘접속어미 ‘-다고’는 흔히 ‘-다고 해서’의 축약형인 ‘-다고’와 혼동되나 ‘-다고 해서’의 축약형 ‘-다고’와 변별되는 형태이므로 구별하여 논의해야 한다. 접속어미 ‘-다고’는 인간의 의지적 행동에 대한 원인을 나타낸다는 점에서 다른 인과관계 접속어미와 구별된다. 그리고 ‘-다고’는 선행절 사건이 반드시 사실이어야 함을 전제하지 않는다는 것, 선행절이 인용된 발화를 대상으로 한다는 것 등의 특징을 지니는데 이것은 ‘-다고’가 인용구문에서 생성된 접속어미라는 기원적 특성에서 비롯된다.

The purpose of this study is to clarify being existence of -tako having the function as the causal connective ending and to investigate the semantic property of -tako. The causal connective ending -tako is often confused with -tako, the contracted form of -tako hayse but we must discriminate between -tako and -tako the contracted form of -tako hayse when we argue on -tako because the former is different from the latter in form. The causal connective ending -tako is distinguished from the other causal connective endings in that the causal connective ending -tako represents the cause of intended human behavior. And -tako is wearing the characteristics that -tako is not on the assumption that the event expressed in the preceding clause must certainly be real and that the preceding clause makes quoted utterance an object. These characteristics result from the original property that -tako is the causal connective ending having been formed in the quotation construction.
