Study on the Work Value of College Students Major in Cosmetology -Centering on the Students in Busan Metropolitan City-

The purpose of this study was to explore and analyse the work value of college students major in cosmetology located in Pusan Metropolitan City. The subjects of this study were 191 college students. Maryland Work Value Inventory was used and the data were collected using a structured and self-administrated questionnaire. The following results were obtained. As a result of factor analysis, The work value consists of six factors and can be classified personal work value (technical achievement, status level, other's recognition, special responsibility, financial remuneration) and social work value(social contribution). The mean personal work value(4.16) were higher than the mean social work value(3.42). The work value factor order of preference was other's recognition(4.30), financial remuneration(4.28), status level(4.17), technical achievement(4.16), special responsibility(3.89), and social contribution(3.42).
