Today, our country, which is the only divided country among all the countries in the world, for 60 divided years of having different politic, economy, and culture, now we are in a serious situation of dual living. Providing for the reunification of North and South Korea, Not feeling the necessity of advance preparation for politics and economics, but many-sided research on the actual condition of North Korean beauty culture is needed. North and South have the same history and language, since dividing into parts, the language that we use begun different. As the result of comparing North and South Korea's language and looking into North Korea's beauty industry, knowing North Koreans lifestyle as a beauty artist is as follows. First of all, North Korea's vocabulary is basically corrected from Chinese character and have a lot of words meaning revolution. Above all things, because they do not use English which is a world common language, the words being used in beauty industry is different. It causes serious problem in communication between two countries and remaining as a subject. Secondly, looking into beauty industry. Owning a beauty salon individually is not allowed in North Korea, every beauty salon is running by the government. They have a chart showing hair style numbers with its names hanging on the wall, so people can choose what they want. Men and women are being regulated not to have long hair, and women can not ware short skirt. It is advised to have short hair for convenience and practicality. Dying hair is only being done to cover white hair and criticising that the light color is for those who are in a capitalist country. Because, the supplies of women makeup is not much and expensive, it is normally being used among executive and wealthy people, can see ordinary women does just basic make up. However, it is strongly understood as a capitalist style. An interview with the North Korean defector was more specific and realistic. Most of the North Korean defectors are coming from Chinese border line, There is a little difference between the real life in North and what we can see and hear from TV or news papers, however it would be pretty much the same.
