Value of Cultural Archetype on Village Beliefs and Rites in Gupo Areas

A cultural archetype is discussed by folk culture, but it is so difficult that we jump to a conclusion that each folk phenomena is a cultural archetype. Because a cultural archetype is a final category to be constructed by symbol and image in each folk phenomena. In this study, I introduce the village faith and ceremony focused the folk culture in the Gupo region and suggest that the final category to include the village faith and the ceremony is a cultural archetype in that region. This region has the folklore related to the Byeolsin-gut, Dangsanje, and Dang san-Jisinbapki. I introduce such a folklore in detail and define what is the value in the village faith and ceremony in the Gupo region. And then I also reconstruct the value derived through term, order of sacrificial rites, type, election of one who superintends ceremonial rites, folklore about origine of Byeolsin-gut, Dangsanje and Jisinbapki. Finally, I suggest that the value is the practice for the integration of the whole and the public good.(Dong-a University)
