우리나라는 국토 면적에 비해 해안선이 길어 해양공간 및 연안지역의 개발 잠재력이 높으며 플로팅 건축물의 활용 가능성이 매우 크다. 또한 세계 최고 수준의 조선 및 건축기술을 가지고 있어 플로팅 건축물 관련 설계 및 시공기술을 체계적으로 확립한다면 국내외시장에서 충분히 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있는 여건이 마련되어 있다. 본 연구는 플로팅 건축물의 본격적인 기술개발에 앞서 국내외 시장현황을 살펴보고 관련 산업동향을 파악하여 플로팅 건축물의 기술개발 및 산업화를 위한 기초자료를 확보하는데 그 목적이 있다.

Nowadays around the world the floating architecture, a new type of architecture sited on water such as ocean, river, canal and lake, has became one of the most important infrastructures for marine cities. This is because of the raising of sea level due to global warming in the world. Therefore many of European countries, Japan, and U.S.A have been developing the technologies and expanding their markets inside and outside of their country for floating architecture. This paper is intended to analyze the market situation and the industry trend of domestic and international part in relation to floating architecture. The result will be the basis of the research into the technologies and design in order to catch up with the world market of advanced floating architecture.
