Team teaching (TT) is a common teaching practice in secondary English classrooms in Korea. Most studies, thus far, have only examined how Korean teachers of English perceived TT. In this paper, we explore the guest English teachers' (GETs) perceptions of Korean English teachers' (KETs) practices in their TT classes. A survey was conducted of 130 GETs in the Gyeongnam province. The findings show: (1) GETs are apparently not familiar with the TTE (Teaching English in English) policy, but they consider TT the most appropriate pedagogic practice to implement TEE classes in Korea; (2) Most GETs and KETs actually team teach in their TT classes; however, GETs usually perform the main teaching role; and (3) GETs speak much more than KETs do, and KETs usually use more Korean than English for classroom activities and classroom management. Lastly, GETs, while acknowledging the need for KETs to use some Korean, stress that KETs should try to use Korean sparingly. The findings as such indicate a strong need to address these issues to utilize TT as an effective teaching practice for successful TEE classes.
