The purpose of this study was to find a plan to increase export and international competitiveness levels of Korean parts and materials industry through comparative analysis with china parts and materials industry. Analyzing methods were Market Share, Trade Specialization Index and Market Comparative Advantage. The data were collected through parts and materials statistical data which produced by Ministry of Knowledge & Economy and Korea International Trade Association. From this study, following results were found.. ⅰ) Highly ranked Korean items in China market were compounds & chemical products, first metalware, electrical instrument parts while highly ranked Chinese items in Korean market were textile products, compounds & chemical products, nonmetallic mineral products. ⅱ) In searching trade balance aspects through TSI, Korean compounds & chemical products, transport machinery parts, precision instrument parts secured very powerful competitiveness among examined items in trading with China while textile products, nonmetallic mineral product were very weak competitiveness in the same market. ⅲ) Analysis results of market competitiveness by MCA, indicated that Korean compounds & chemical products, transport machinery parts ensured high-powered competitiveness in China market while Chinese textile products, computer & office product ensured high-powered competitiveness in Korean market.
