An Aesthetic Survey on Christian Education

The Bible says "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good". The Creation is not only formed in good order by the ability of Word, but also completed as endowing God's own goodness and beauty internally. The world was basically created with God's goodness and beauty, and therefore the beauty of world always involves the good, and it can be appreciated and enjoyed properly only at the time of allying itself with God. However, due to human corruption, it was impossible for man to recognize God by his own percipience, instead, he was possible to do only by His Incarnation. The only way is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the Incarnation of God, is the glory of God itself and show everything including the beauty of God. Therefore, Jesus who is the existence to reveal the presence of God in this world change and lead the beauty of world lost the image of God, who is the perfect beauty, due to human corruption so as to transcendentalize it up to the one of God. The reason that Christ's birth and death on the cross dazzle the glorious beauty of God is filled with love in them. In this sense, it needs an aesthetic survey to conduct Christian education. Christian education should be rightly taught its contents based on the Bible. But, the Bible is filled with the mysterious and transcendent images. So, such the Biblical contents shouldn't be taught by the educational method to deal with human intellectual realm, because by such method it is impossible to educate and acquaint people with everything about Jesus. The Biblical contents filled with the sensible symbols and shine with the God's glory and love, that is to say the beauty of God, need a sensible insight, i.e. imagination possible to a conceptual thinking. Through an aesthetic survey, Christian education will renew the true knowledge of God more and more.
