한국 사회에 맞는 설교

The aim of this paper is to delineate the types of preaching relevant in the context of the Korean societal reality. The paper consists of three sections. First, the social implications of the act of preaching in Korea are explored. Second, the different approaches responding to the specific social trends are examined. The effective communication of the Word cannot happen unless the preacher is keen to the ‘environment for preaching’. In the Korean context, we may identify two strands forming this environment: diachronic and syncronic.The preacher has to pay a close attention to how the two strands merge today to create a unique and challenging fabric of life in which the congregation is immersed and also how the preacher should adjust the way s/he prepares the message accordingly. Finally, the paper identifies the constant elements that the act of preaching in the Korean society should not fail to implement to impact not only the immediate congregation but the society at large as well.
