Reformed Theology and Natural Sciences

Besides the doctrine of the Trinity, the newly hot-debated issue in post-modern times is the relation between theology and natural sciences. The most popular opinion is the conflict model. This position contends that there has been the war between natural sciences and theology or Christian faith. The other possible option is the independence model. This position holds that natural sciences and theology have their proper realms to deal with. The realms do not coincide with each other. Another possible alternative is the dialogue or consonance model. Natural sciences and theology have to help and listen to each other. They have something to learn from each other. Abraham Kuyper does not directly refer to the relation between natural sciences and theology but the Reformed position on sciences or disciplines in general. But we can deduce how to set up the correct relationship between Reformed theology and natural sciences. At least in Reformed theology it is not desirable to give an unconditional objection to natural sciences or to isolate them from theology. Of course it is not correct to accept everything in natural sciences. Neither is to refuse everything. We are to acknowledge "something" in natural sciences.
