A study on comparison and directions of the origin certification system in Free Trade Agreement (FTA)

The origin certification system in Free Trade Agreement(FTA) is procedure that confirm the country of origin to take preferential tariff of FTA in exporting country. Usually, it is classified into authorized certification system and self-certification system according to proving party. Asian countries are selecting authorized certification system mainly, and United States and European Union are selecting self-certification system mainly. The self-certification system simple and suitable than the authorized certification system from point that charge is reduced issuance procedure. But, this system has a shortcoming that certificate of origin can be issued colorably. According as FTA is expanded all over the world, the origin certification system may be diversified more. The South Korea will select the self-certification system in the long term, but it shows to select the authorized certification system continuously shortly. Under the authorized certification system, the origin verification system is expected that way of inquiry verification for issuance institution of certificate of origin and visit verification continuously.
