스프라인 보간을 이용한 새로운 해안선 데이터 압축 방법을 제안하였다. 스프라인 보간에 적용하기 위한 노드는 항해 측면에서 현저한 해안 위치로 정하였다. 그리고, 보간은 긴 곡선 형태의 해안선에만 부분적으로 적용하였다. 여러 가지 압축률에 따른 해안선 형태의 변화에 대하여 검토하고, 결과를 제시하였다.
A new coastline data compression method using spline interpolation is proposed. In the view point of navigation, the node points to adopt spline interpolation are selected as conspicuous coast positions. Then the interpolation carried out partly to the long curved coastlines only. Some results for the influence of coastline shape according to various compression ratio are discussed and presented.
