『京都雜志』 연구

유득공의 『경도잡지』는 우리나라 세시풍속에 관한 최초의 전문적인 저작이다. 저작 시기는 정조 만년, 즉 1790년대 후반이다. ‘풍속’을 먼저, ‘세시’를 다음에 두고 각각 19개 항목씩으로 정리한 정연한 체제에서 짐작되는 바, 오랜 기간 연구의 결과물이다. 유득공은 풍속과 세시의 연구에 있어서 대상을 우리 것에만 한정하지 않고, 다른 나라의 그것과 비교 연구를 진행하였다. 즉, 세계적 시야를 확보하고 있었다. 민속 연구에 있어서 세계적 시각의 중요성에 비추어, 실로 획기적인 연구방법을 개척한 것이었다. 그의 연구의 또 다른 특징은 고증적인 자세다. ‘세시’ 부분의 수많은 인용 서목에서 스스로 드러나는 바이지만, 영재의 엄밀한 고증은 그의 학문을 관류하는 경향이기도 하다. 『경도잡지』는 그 내용에 있어서 유득공의 다른 저작, 즉 『고운당필기』와 긴밀하다. 거기에 이미 ｢세시풍속｣이라는 제목의 기사가 있다. 『고운당필기』는 전체의 대략 4분의 1에 가까운 조목이 세시 풍속 관계 기사들이다. 그 가운데 상당 부분은 내용의 거의 전부 또는 일부가 『경도잡지』에 그대로 수용되고 있다. 『경도잡지』는 현재 6종의 필사 이본이 확인된다. 규장각 가람문고본과 연세대 귀중본이 같은 계통이고, 자연경실본(버클리대학 동아시아도서관 소장본) 및 취향산루장본(미국의회도서관 소장본)과 동국대본이 같은 계통이다. 한 행과 한 면의 글자 수가 서로 동일하다. 이들 필사 이본은 여러가지 차이를 보이는데, 그 차이들은 광문회본에 와서 모두 정리되었다.

This thesis about the research on Yu-Deukgong's 『Kyungdo Japji(京都雜志)』. 『Kyungdo Japji』 is the research about the latter part of 18th's seasonal customs in Seoul. This book is the first professional article about customs and other yearly affairs of Seoul, or even those of the entire Korea itself, and it has affected a lot of 19th-century-written books. 『Kyungdo Gapji』 is intimately connected with Yu-Deukgong's another writing, 『Goundang Pilgi(古芸堂筆記)』. Based on the numerous records of Korea's seasonal customs that appear in 『Goundang Pilgi』, professional articles had completed. 『Kyungdo Gapji』 has many variant in the Kyujanggak(奎章閣), Yonsei univ. Library and other many domestic and foreign library. Among these, a variant kept in the East Asian Studies section of univ. of Berkely, US, has its worth as a copy once kept by Seo-Yugu(徐有榘) himself, and the other variant owned by US Library of Congress is known as the one that is closest to its completion.
