Tongshinsa and Samyeongdang in the late of Chosun Dynasty

This writing is for the effects of Samyeongdang on Tongshinsa in the late of Chosun Dynasty. The results of examining the record of Tongshinsa, The collection of Samyeongdang works, etc. can be summarized briefly as followed. Firstly, Samyeongdang went to Japan as an envoy, progressed the conference with Tokugawa Iyeyas(德川家康) and normalized diplomatic relations between two countries. In result, with the resumption of Tongshinsa severed by Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, the exchange of various Korean-Japanese cultures can be possible through the Tongshinsa in the late of Chosun Dynasty. In other words, Samyeongdang was the best merit person who recovered the diplomatic tradition of mutual relations. Secondly, Samyeongdang sent the letter asking Japanese people concerned by diplomacy for help so that Chosun prisoners can be repatriated, through Tongshinsa dispatched in the late of Chosun Dynasty. And he requested Tongshinsa to strive to bring many prisoners in Japan through the ode to them. Consequently, in the record of Tongshinsa, the figure of Tongshinsa who did the best for prisoner repatriation was described so often and through Tongshinsa, prisoner repatriation could be conducted continuously. Thirdly, Samyeongdang went to Japan as an envoy and exchanged with Japanese through poetic conversations and conversational writings. Especially, he composed a poem praising Antokuk emperor(安德天皇) died under a false accusation in Akama Gaseki(赤間關). After then, Tongshinsa in the late of Chosun Dynasty always composed a poem to the poem of Samyeongdang in that place traditionally. We can guess that Samyeongdang prepared the opportunity exchanging writers of two countries through Tongshinsa finally. Like this, the effects of Samyeongdang on Tongshinsa in the late of Chosun Dynasty were very great.
