대학생의 성경험과 성폭력의 실태 및 영향요인

Sexual Experiences & Violence and Its Impact Factors among College Students: Focused on Busan & Kyungnam Area

이 연구는 부산.경남지역 남녀대학생들의 성경험과 성폭력 경험, 그 영향요인 등을 살펴봄으로써 향후 이들이 올바른 성의식과 가치관을 가지도록 돕는 성교육 제도화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구자료는 2007년 11월에서 12월까지 부산.경남지역 대학생 1000명으로부터 설문지를 이용하여 수집되었으며 이들 중 총 954명의 자료가 SPSS 17.0을 통해 통계처리되었다. 여기서 밝혀진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구에 참여한 대학생들의 성경험 중 가장 높은 비율을 나타낸 것은 키스였으며 다음은 애무, 성관계 순으로 나타났고 거의 모든 경험에서 성별 차이를 보여 남학생이 여학생보다 더 많은 경험을 보고하였다. 둘째, 이 연구에서 대학생들의 성폭력 피해경험은 전체 11.4%로 여학생들에게 약간 더 높게, 가해경험은 2.6%로 남학생들에게 더 높게 나타났다. 성폭력 경험의 유형으로는 피해경험과 가해경험 모두 노골적인 신체접촉과 성적인 언어가 가장 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생의 성경험에 영향을 주고 있는 요인은 성별, 성의식, 연령, 음란물 경험 순으로 나타났다. 성별로 분리하여 분석한 결과 여학생들의 경우 모든 독립변수가 영향을 미치고 있는데 특히 종교(기독교와 천주교)가 성경험의 억제작용을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 성폭력 피해경험과 가해경험에 가장 유의한 영향을 준 변수는 성별로 나타났다. 즉, 여학생은 성폭력 피해경험, 남학생은 성폭력 가해경험의 가능성이 높게 나타났다. 대학생들의 성에 대한 올바른 인식확립과 더불어 성폭력 예방을 위해 정규교육과정에 성교육을 제도화하는 방안이 필요하다.

This study was aimed to investigate sexual experiences & violence among college students, and to suggest effective institutionalization of sex education as a regular curriculum. The data were collected by 1000 college students in Busan & Kyungnam area, using questionnaires. The main results of this study were as follows: 1. The data indicated that the most frequent sexual experiences of college students in this study were kissing, petting, and sexual intercourse in order. Also the results revealed significant differences between male students and female students in their sexual experiences. 2. 11.4% of college students in this study reported victimized experiences of sexual violence, 2.6% assaulting experiences. Female students reported more victimized experiences of sexual violence. On the contrary, male students responded more experiences of sexual assault. The data indicated 'explicit physical contact' and 'using sexual words' as most frequent patterns of sexual violence, regardless of victimized or assaulting experiences. 3. The factors that have significant effects on sexual experiences were gender, sexual perceptions, age, and experience of watching pornography. For female students, who had more liberal perceptions of sexuality, who were older, who had experiences of watching pornography tended to report more sexual experiences. 4. The most significant factor influencing on the experience of sexual violence was gender. That is, female students had more possibility to be victims of sexual violence, while male students had more possibility to be assaulters. Implications and limitations of the data were suggested. Given the potential risks of some of sexual violence, recommendations to further explore and address sex education for college students were mentioned.
