Lee Hae Gyeong's novel is the existence not related to the acceleration of modern. This characteristic of writer is exemplified in her works, 『The Home Front』 and 『the house on the road』. The heroes of The Home Front are frail existences hiding in the shadow of the living world. But they blossom pure and beautiful flower. And they are beings like' a flower in the shade' that is taking root in harsh world. Meanwhile, 『the house on the road』 shows the life of the old and young generation with a family history of a family. This work describes the decay of the family community that becomes increasingly desolate as the change of generations. At the same time, this work aims for the pease and ideal community without conflict. This is accompanied by a lyrical style. Today, as we get used to the fascistic speed, we have forgotten the importance of the family community. This novel let us know the it's importance.
