SHRD maturity in Organizations with Best HRD Certification

Scholars have discussed Strategic HRD(SHRD) lively at home and abroad. However previous researches did not try to inspect the maturity of SHRD, especially in Korea. At first, this study compares 9 characteristics of original SHRD suggested by Garavan with those of enhanced SHRD argued by McCracken and Wallace and then investigates the reality of organizations with Best HRD certification which was accredited by government. Based on McCracken and Wallace`s model, SHRD maturity is measured. As a result, the reality of organization with Best HRD certification is closer to Garavan`s characteristics than to McCracken and Wallace`s. And it concludes that all organizations, except central administrative organizations, belong to the `very mature` category. On the other hand, it does not reveal any difference of awareness between HRD practitioners and ordinary employees.
