There is almost none to be known in this country on the petroglyphs of Манхай(Manhai) and Шишикино(Shishikino) at river-side around Lake Baikal in Siberia till now. Further, when it regards to the Manhai petroglyphs, it's useless to find out of it's real patterns in Korea. When the writer detects these area, it presents me lots to be surprises, just like when a boy discovers the virgin spring. Especially in Shishikino carvings, at upper stream River Lena, they show plenty beauties of the ancient human lives of hunting including those from the Old Stone Age to the Neolithic Age and succeedingly to the Bronze Age, the Iron Age and even to the early Historic Age. Various paintings of human, boat, deer, cow, bird, even horse to our surprise, dancing crowds, horse riding statue, monstrous animal all those are making the observers to drawn into almost the world of imagination. Different from Shishikino's, the Manhai stone carvings are constituted with paintings expected to be those of the Bronze Age and the early Iron Age, most of which subject is horse. There described the hunting riders, along with deer and camels. These two area are laid along both sides of River Lena and when we consider their surrounding environment in the view of the paintings, we are easy to understand that the tribes in these area were lending plentiful life of foot through fishing and hunting. What I sure to support can their common points are that the horse riding statue is shown to be painted on the same part of the rock. This may mean that it confronted the epoch that welcomed the Iron Age and the early Historic Age past the Pre-Historic Age lasted long. There remains much to research in this area for every fields of scientist who look for the vision of their study.
