Complex of the Koguryo Tombs as World Heritage

Complex of the Koguryo Tombs” nominated by DPRK registered as World Heritage in the 28th World Heritage Committee. The nomination of Koguryo heritage as World Heritage means the heritage has outstanding universal value from the viewpoint of world-wide, not only nation-wide. Sixty-three tombs registered World Heritage. they are mainly located in Pyongyang area and 14 tombs are in South Pyongyang Province, Nampo and South Hwanghae Province. Sixteen out of 63 tombs including tombs An-ax tombs No 3, Tokhung-ri tomb, Kang-sew tomb have beautiful and outstanding wall paintings. The Nomination of Koguryo Heritage as World Heritage is not the final goal. Management plan including conservation and preservation policies, developing moniterring system, prepareing periodcal report, tourism policy will be set up. we has more suports this policy. South and North scholars should define and analyze in the history of Koguryo one by one.
