The records of tall-man's nation for chinese was originated by the concept of so-called eastern giant. After tang dynasty, the drifters as violent strangers. The Jangin-Kuk (Tall-man's Nation) shown in the old Chinese document (especially in the ‘Tang-shu’) was regarded as an unidentified cannibal nation. But professor Lee, Sung-shi, Waseda Univ. of Japan, insisted that it was Bohsai as the symbol of fear to Shilla. As a my conclusion, I believe that Jangin-Kuk is not Bohai, but the Old-Japan (Wai-Kuk). The people of Old-Japan were the kind of pirates in the people of costal region of southern Korea. And the Chol-Gwan (Iron Gate) of the northern Korea was not the defense castle against Bohai, but the symbol of agricultural achievement. I believe that the records of Jangin-Kuk in the Tang-shu in which the record of Jangin-Kuk was copied mainly from the Taepyong-Kwangki, were a miswriting by complier. And I do not trust the records for Janin-Kuk (Tall-man's Nation) in the Tang-shu document.
