This articles aims to presuppose the probable occupant of the Taewang-nung Tomb of the Koguryo period by examining some archaeological researches. The problem of the probable occupant of the Tomb can be closely related to the probable period of production of the roof tiles excavated in the Tomb. For this purpose, I compared the inscriptions of Taewang-nung(太王陵) engraved on the stone plate excavated in this Tomb with the inscriptions from the Kwanggaetodaewangbi, the stele in Joongwon area of Choongbuk Province, the inscriptions on the silver caskets excavated in the Seobong-chong Tomb, the inscriptions on the earthen pots excavated in the Howoo-chong Tomb of the Shilla period, and the inscriptions excavated in the Moduroo-chong Tomb. Lastly, I compared the oldest lotus design roof-end tiles excavated in the Taewang-nung Tomb with those excavated in the N0. 3 Tomb in Anak Area, the Mooyong-chong Tomb, and the Gakjeo-chong Tomb. As a result of this research, I judged that the probable period of production of the roof tiles excavated in the Taewang-nung Tomb may date back to A.D. 410s and thus that the Taewang-nung is the tomb of King Kwanggaetodae-wang of the Koguryo Dynasty.
