In this thesis, I will look at the issues characteristic culture, distinguished areas and dated chronologies for studying the early bronze age in north Hebei (河北) province, China, especially focused on the result of the recent studies. Firstly, the culture of the early bronze ages in this area is strongly affected on the lower level culture of Xiajiadian(夏家店) in Liaoxi(遼西) region, cause of its location. In this reason, it is easy to understand being seen the same category with ‘the culture of north area’ in a macroscopic point of view. Yet it is clear that those two area has got specific differences, accordingly it is appropriate to grasp separated culture. That will also be made sure when you look at the regional distribution of Li with Zun style(尊形鬲) and Zun(尊) distributed in the north of Hebei(河北) province. Secondly, it is not so profitable to distinguish Hu-liu river type(壺流河類型) of HuliuㆍSanggan(桑干) river basin and Lidarenzhouang type(李大人庄類型) of Yang(洋) river basin, with the culture of Datuotou(大坨頭), in order to understand the bronze age of this area. Lastly, Chinese scholars have dated the culture of the early bronze age’s chronology from Xia(夏) dynasty to early Shang(商) dynasty. However, it is needed to be reconsidered, because it is based on overlapping layers and comparing earthenware forms getting from small scale archeological excavation.
