Specially, King Jang-Su(413~491) erected a stone monument named Jang-Won-Bee that memorialised the expansion of Koguryo. In this monument, Koguryo’s King offered the Koguryo’s clothings for subordination of Shilla. In Chungju, we can see some Koguryo’s cultural remains, including Stone Buddda image. Therefore Chungju was only place to understand the Koguryo’s culture in South Korea. This is the reason that Changju is a center of the Taek-Kyon(martial art).
