THE ORIGIN OF SHILLA GEUMIPDAEK

A result of research of residence history in Korean ancient history is not great. Such a fact is ascribed to short of it’s records and also residence history has generally been treated as a part of archeology or architecture history and has not been watched greatly. And also it is true that residence history has been surpassed by literature-oriented politics, social history research. However, since residence history has a grounding in politics, economics, society as a space of human life, it can’t be overlooked in research of history. If we approach to residence history under such historical recognition, since the nature of residence become different according to politics, social standing of resident, it will be a measure to understand one’s social position. It is confirmed at geumipdaek called in distinction from oksa of general residence since unified Shilla age because chanja(editor)of “Samgookyusa” makes expression of phases of the times of society of one’s social position by enumerating geumipdaek as symbol of the golden age of Shilla of Jinhanjo. Such as, geumipdaek of showing phases of life of age is not simple house of the nobility but actual landowner of an absolute sovereign power of jungdae based on nobles economical base and became a foundation of dissolution of Shilla hadae. So geumipdaek has great meaning of history of Shilla. So far, geumipdaek has been studied under a category of daek “daek means house” and it is more expanded, the essential quality of aristocracy of Shilla has been studied through what showing “Inching, a house, a site, a grave site, location and position, a house of resting peacefully” a house in a broad sense. If we see through daek in a broad sense, we came to know that geumipdaek is a product of age appeared in home and overseas social environment of before and after unified Shilla. The origin of geumipdaek, a product of an age can found in the course of materializing of national structure. Shilla accomplished one’s social position order graded at height of king of various patriarch who moved to Kyungju and settled down according to Shilla’s national structure was established. In the course, residence of bujogjangdaek has been specialized to palace, gwancheongsa(government office), and a house. In such specialization, geumipdaek caused formation of jaesangka(the prime minister family) who enjoys economic power and power based on economic power distributed according to weighing merit and making appropriate award, a product of three countries unification and by new power before and after unified Shilla age. Therefore, geumipdaek was power and economic power who could gold freely in oksa of Kyungju and means daek who enjoys power with historic background from generation to generation. Further famous big daek including daek, government office, palace, etc. of family of jingol level superior than the prime minister family, has been named. WE came to know that jaesangka of this geumipdaek was an influential person who had enjoyed economic power and power and had influence upon rise and fall together with prosperity of the country till the fall of the Shilla. In conclusion, from new phases of residence history, the origin of geumipdaek enabled history is illuminated dynamically and tells us the passage of the Shilla history.
