Problems on Cooperation of history textbooks among Korea, China and Japan - Subtitle : Comparing the above Cooperation with Europe’s textbooks -

Jacques Delors who had been a chairman of 21st IEC(International Education Committee) suggested four agendas like a ‘study for living together’, a ‘study for knowing’, a ‘study for practising’, a ‘study for being’ as a base of education. Among those classes, the one thing to be most stressed is a ‘study for living together’, to say, that how we can learn the method to live together Even though there is a difference in the terms, the idea being a ‘study for living together’ was already existed in the cooperations among countries at the beginning of 20 century. Related to this issue, LN(League of Nations) paid attention to revision of textbooks-specially of the historical textbooks. Europe and the world that had experienced a very bloody disaster like World War II to be bursted out of the beginning of 20 century boosted the revision works of the textbooks based on the international understanding and the friendly cooperations with the central of UNESCO in order to protect the cruel war and massacre anymore. The UNESCO committee in Germany participated positively in activities of a conference of the textbooks and a development of relationship with many neighbor countries which had a lot of bad interactions after Second World War. In this movement, 『Internationales Schulbuchinstitut』 built in Braunschweig/Germany by Georg Eckert who was a professor in Kant-Hochschule at 1951 obtained an utmost-wonderful result in the revision of the textbooks for clearing the Nazi’s criminal acts off and reflection and repentance about the Holocaust-the massacre of Jewish people through making the textbook committee not only between Germany and France, between Germany and Poland but also between Germany and Israel and other countries under the supports of Germany’s government continuously. But, when we glance our eyes at East-Asia currently, there are a deep difference of viewpoint and acute confrontation like being called the history as “War of History” among Korea, China and Japan. Since distorting of the historical textbooks in Japan, 1982, South and North Korea, China and east asian countries very strongly opposed against contorting the history textbooks by the department of education administration in Japan as well as these kinds of fact made a very hard criticism in all people of East Asia. Besides of them, Chinese government that co-confronted at the distortion of Japanese historical textbooks shows a very dark intention of erasing all ancient history of Korea through including the history like “Ko-chosun” and being related to Koguryŏ into a part of chinese history - that is called as “Northeast Project” since 2002 year. This comes up to the surfaces through strengthening the international position and the influencing power lately. Relating to this, the thesis is focusing at the suggestions by comparing it with the Europe’s case for the solutions and problems of the history textbooks between Korea and Japan as well as between Korea and China after the analysis of a successful textbook cooperations by Germany with the neighbor countries - Germany-France, Germany-Poland, Germany-Israel since Second World War, above all in Europe.
