To elaborate on the causes and solutions of the ‘Great Recession’ which started from the collapse of US housing market in 2007, the Korean Association for Political Economy (KAPE) held an international conference, ‘Global Economic Crisis and Innovation of Economics’ on April 14~15, 2011 at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, Korea. This special issue consists of 6 revised versions of papers presented at that conference.
