차펙의 『위경 이야기들』에 나타난 비유

본 논문에서는 〈벤하난〉, 〈빌라도의 신조〉, 〈십자가 못 박힘〉, 〈빌라도의 저녁〉 등 성경의 테마를 중심으로 한『위경 이야기들』에 나타난 비유를 논한다. 비유는 전통적으로 작가로 하여금 종교적, 도덕적 그리고 정치적 면에서 사회참여의 수단으로 사용되었다. 비유적인 표현은 차펙으로 하여금 저널리즘 스타일의 글쓰기에서 문학과 정치사이의 차이를 가깝게 하도록 하였다. 『위경 이야기들』은 저널리스트로서 차펙의 독특한 문학 장르의 성공적인 창작을 보여준다. 이 책은 신문 칼럼의 비평에 어울리고, 체코유머의 빈정거림에 알맞게 고안된 차펙 자신의 창조적인 문학 장르를 사용한다.『위경 이야기들』에서는 유머와 환상적인 비유들이 교차한다. 그 이야기들은 위경적이다, 왜냐하면 그것들은 새롭고 창조적인 관점으로부터 위대한 서양문명의 유산을 다른 형식으로 말하고 풍자하기 때문이다.

This paper discuss Čapek’s use of the parable or allegory of apocryphal stories of biblical themes, such as Benhanan, Pilate’s Credo, Crucifixion and Pilate’s Evening. Allegorical parable has traditionally served authors as a vehicle of social engagement, in the religious, moral, or political aspect. The parable mode of expression allowed Čapek close the gap between literary art and politics in his jounalistic writings. The Apocryphal Stories show Čapek’s successful writings of unique literary genre as a journalist. This book employs a genre of Čapek’s own devising suited to the criticism of newspaper column and to the cynicism of Czech humor. The Apocryphal Stories are the intersection of humor and the fantastic parable. They are apocryphal because they retell and parody great Western cultural heritage from new and innovative perspective.
