한국어 영유아청각통합능력척도(IT-MAIS)의 타당도와 신뢰도 평가

Validity and Reliability of the IT-MAIS Korean Version in Children with Normal Hearing

배경 및 목적: 청각장애의 조기진단과 조기중재는 전 세계적인 추세이며, 이에 따라 영유아 대상 청지각능력 평가의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 국내에서도 청각장애 아동의 인공와우 이식연령이 점차 낮아짐에 따라, 이식 여부 결정 및 이식 후의 수행력 평가를 위한 영유아 청지각능력 평가 도구의 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 연구는 영유아의 청지각능력 평가 도구로 전 세계적으로 사용되고 있는 영유아청각통합능력척도(IT-MAIS)를 한국어로 번안하고, 그 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 청각장애 영유아의 청지각능력 평가는 건청 영유아의 청지각능력 발달을 토대로 하고 있으므로 본 연구에서는 청각장애 영유아에 앞서 건청 영유아를 대상으로 하였다. 연구방법: 전문가 집단을 대상으로 한국어 IT-MAIS의 내용 타당도를 구하였고, 생후 0∼24개월까지 총 80명 건청 아동의 주 양육자를 대상으로 직접 면담을 통해 한국어 IT-MAIS의 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 또한 월령 변화가 한국어 IT-MAIS 점수 변화에 유의하게 영향을 주는가를 회귀분석으로 평가하였다. 연구결과: 한국어 IT-MAIS에 대해 전문가 집단은 내용이 적절하다는 의견을 주었다. 신뢰도 평가에서 한국어 IT-MAIS의 Chronbach’s α 값은 0.92, Gutman 반분계수는 0.89, 총점과 각 문항간의 상관계수도 0.69∼0.89 로 높게 나타났다. 또한 아동의 월령에 따라 IT-MAIS 점수는 유의하게 변화하였다(R = 0.96). 논의 및 결론: 한국어 IT-MAIS는 영유아의 청지각 능력을 평가하는 데에 있어 내용이 타당하며, 높은 문항내적일관성을 갖추고 월령에 따른 청지각능력의 변화가 반영되어 있는 신뢰할 수 있는 척도로 평가된다.

Background & Objectives: With the expansion of early diagnosis for intervention against hearing loss, evaluating the hearing perception of infants and toddlers is becoming more important. However, to evaluate hearing perception of infants and toddlers, specialized tests are needed because of the developmental characteristics of the subjects. IT-MAIS is a test that evaluates meaningful auditory integration ability in infants and toddlers. The purpose of the present study was to verify the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the IT-MAIS (IT-MAIS-K). Method: The participants for validity were five SLPs. The participants for reliability were 80 children from 0 to 24 months of age. The subjects passed a newborn hearing screening test and did not have any disabilities. The IT-MAIS-K was performed through an interview with the parents of these children. Content validity, tests of the reliability of the IT-MAIS-K, and regression analysis of the IT-MAIS-K results regarding development were performed. Results: The participants verified the content validity of the IT-MAIS-K. The internal consistency reliability of the IT-MAIS-K was high (Chronbach’s α=0.92), along with high corrected item–total correlation coefficients (r=0.69 to 0.89). Age in months was shown to be a significant variable in change of hearing perception ability (R=0.96). Discussion & Conclusion: The IT-MAIS-K can be considered as a reliable hearing perception test for infants and toddlers. The results of the present study show the test can be used to effectively assess the development of hearing perception ability in children with hearing loss.
