The Human Capital Investment and Physical Transfer in Intergeneration and Income Path

There are two types of intergenerational income transfers: one is the transfer through human capital investment such as education, the other is physical transfer such as bequests. While the physical transfer of parents to children increases their income level directly, the transfer through human capital investment increases it indirectly by enhancing their earning capacity. Considering the different characteristics of each transfer type mentioned above, we investigate intergenerational income path, and present simulations about the effect on the income level at steady state of the human investment and its performance to earning capacity. The results show that when the evaluation of human investment which enhances earning capaciity is high the income level increases as the rate of human investment rises. It depends on initial income level and parameters whether the degree of initial income inequality would be equalized at steady state or not.
