The Local Educational Finance System in the United States

This paper deals with the local educational finance system in the United States. The elementary and secondary education has been recognized as the most important major function of the local government in the western industrial countries including the United States. Since Korea just introduced the local autonomous system in 1995, it is important to know how the western countries like the United States have worked in order to strength their educational function. Thus, this paper surveys the local educational function of the United States, especially focusing on its financial aspects and tries to apply its implications to the Korea local(elementary and secondary) educational system.
