A Comparative Study on the Different Frameworks for the Analysis of Public Finance

With a changing situation of socio-economic structure, there is a growing interest in heterodox approaches to public finance. There has also been a continuing concern with the limitations of the neoclassical mainstream. The aim of this essay is to understand why there are different approaches to public finance with understanding the different (espitemological) methodologies (different espitemology on human being, society and also state) and obtain insights on how the different schools can learn from one another. In other words, what I try to show is not which one of different schools is right school or presents absolute truth, but there is a clear interrelationship between theory and the espitemology on which the theory is based. It is hoped that this essay will help contribute to a broader and deeper under-standing of the different theories of public finance.
