The Correlation Study on Perceived Levels and Practice of Pedicure by the elderly Men

This Subiects of this study were 300 men aged 60 years or older who untillze both senior citizen’s centers and elderly care facilities located in Gongju-si, Chungnam the survey - generated data regarding the demographic and physical characteristics of the subjects, their general opinion and practics regarding pedicure were analyzed with the SPSS 12.0, t-test, F-test and Duncan test statistics package. The results regarding the relationship between general opinion of pedicures and pedicures and the practice there of according to demographic and physical characteristics found that older men have a strong desire for cleanliness of feet and use pedicure to this end. . The result showing the correlation between the general opinion of pedicures and the practice there of has found that the greater the interest in comfort, foot-washing, cleanliness and treatment of feet, the more they are more active in the practical action of pedicure and interest in treatment has the negative effect on practice of active interest. This study focused on general foot care at the preventive level before the occurrence of problems further study on measures after the problems have occurred will be needed.
