As lifestyles have changed and the quality of life has improved in the 2000s, various types of parties are becoming a new cultural trend. This study provides useful data about party hair styles through a analysis of actresses’ hair styles at film festivals held in Korea. First, as a result of classifying hair styles appearing at film festivals by year into up style and open style, chignon and no parting slicked-back hair style (up style), which make dress stylish, have been mainly chosen by actresses. And for open style, natural wave long hair and left parting bang style were frequently present at the festival. Hair color is mostly dark both for up and open styles, and hair texture is mostly silky. Second, as a result of analyzing hair styles in terms of image, they are mostly graceful, cute, sexy and romantic at the same time in total coordination with make-up and clothes. Third, the study analyzed hair style coordination according to make-up. Most of the makeup styles are natural, romantic or smoky with the basis of three-dimensional natural, sheer makeup and clear skin tone. Natural volume up style, wave up style with braids on the nape, neat up style, straight long hair and chic short style are the hair styles that actresses typically use at the festivals. Fourth, esthetic values of the hair styles are classified as the romantic image with innocent sexiness, the natural image with gracefulness and the moderately chic neo-classic image.
