The service sector accounts for heavy portion in today’s economics resulting in burgeoning researches focusing on emotional labor to grasp crucial workplace attitudes and behaviors. Since employees expend their resources to display imposed positive emotions, it is likely to bring unfavorable job attitudes and behaviors. The research explores important potential moderators in the emotional labor and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) link. Support perception, coming from organization, supervisor, and coworker support, and psychological detachment are proposed to strengthen or weaken the relationships between emotional labor and OCB. Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.
