Sustainable development can only be achieved when the production methods generate less waste and emissions compared with traditional production methods. Sometimes, for achieving above goals, the enterprises owner must apply new& clean technologies. But even without new technology, improvement in the operating process can also reduce waste significantly. The days of cheap resources, low energy costs and few environmental regulations are gone for good. Companies today are talking a closer look at how to reduce their wastes and thereby cut their costs, and to comply with increasingly strict regulations. The purpose of this study is to build the “waste audit process”. Through this process, managers have the overall view and correct information about origin of the waste, help managers to select the effective measures in reducing waste and saving cost for enterprises. This study is performed on the basis of production environment in Vietnam.
