A Study on Dasan’s Poems after His Release from Exile - With regard to the overall patterns of his inner consciousness implied in his poems

이 논문에서 필자는 다산 정약용이 해배이후기(1818.9~1836.2)에 지은시를 바탕으로 이 시기에 다산이 가졌던 내면의식의 여러 양상을 살펴보았다. 그리고 이를 통하여 다산이 노년에 가졌던 의식과 마음을 보다 깊이 이해하고자 하였다. 다산이 세상을 떠난 지 175년이 되었지만, 그는 자신의 切切한 감정과 의지를 시에 함축하여, 후인으로 하여금 그 자취를 찾아볼 수 있게 하였다. 본 논문에서는 다섯 개의 장으로 나누어 다산의 의식과 감정의 양상을 살펴보았다. 1장에서는 다산이 고향에 돌아온 직후의 감회와 즐거움, 그리고 투철한 정신과 정진을 ‘隱逸과 讀書의 歡喜, 끝없는 精進’이라는 제목으로, 2장에서는 다산이 고뇌했던 여러 가지 일들을 ‘苦惱의 諸樣相과 詩的 形象化’라는 제목으로, 3장에서는 해배직후부터 다산을 찾아온 지난날의 아픈 기억과 그로 인한 괴로운 심회를 ‘悔恨과 悲哀의 變奏’라는 제목으로, 4장에서는 다산이 회갑을 지난 이후에 인생에서 깨닫고 느낀 점을 읊은 것을 ‘達觀과 諦念의 形象化’라는 제목으로, 5장에서는 말년에 죽음을 기다리며 느낀 온갖 상념들을 ‘自歎과 自嘲의 情調’라는 제목으로 살펴보았다. 본 논문을 통하여 다산의 인생 후반기의 삶과 내면의 의식들이 어떠했는지에 대해 깊이 알게 되리라 생각한다.

This study set out to investigate the many different aspects of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong’s inner consciousness during his release from exile(September, 1818 ~ February, 1836) based on his poems from the period. The study also intended to promote a deeper understanding of his consciousness and mind in his old age. It has been 175 years since he passed away, but his poems infused with his ardent emotions and determinations still make people look for his traces today. In the study, the investigator examined the patterns of his consciousness and emotions over five chapters. Chapter 1 titled “Glee of Reclusion and Reading & Endless Concentration of Mind” examined his feelings and happiness right after his return to his hometown and his thorough mentality and concentration of mind; Chapter 2 titled “Overall Patterns of Agony and Their Poetic Embodiment” covered many things that he had agony over; Chapter 3 titled “Variations of Remorse and Lamentation” discussed the painful memories from the past that still lingered around him and his resulting suffering; Chapter 4 titled “Embodiment of a Far-Sighted View and Resignation” introduced the poems he wrote about what he realized and felt in life after his 60th birthday; finally, Chapter 5 titled “Sentiment of Self-Complaint and Self-Mockery” presented all sorts of ideas he had while waiting for his death during his last few years. The study will hopefully promote a profound understanding of Dasan’s life and inner consciousness in the latter of his life.
